Prithviraj: Manushi Chhillar on the ‘long and intense’ preparation she did for Akshay Kumar-led film

Chhillar makes her Bollywood debut in the film, in which she essays the role of Sanyogita, wife of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.

Prithviraj is a film highly awaited by fans for a number of reasons. Its visual grandeur aside, the film also marks the Bollywood debut of Miss World winner Manushi Chhillar. The actress recently opened up about the preparation she put into her role.

In conversation with IANS, Chhillar revealed how ‘long and intense’ her preparation schedule was. The makers had wanted her to go through the prep before filming her first shot and the actress said that she was thankful she decided to put in the hard work. Dancing was another thing she had to work on for the period drama. Although she was already trained as a classical dancer, Chhillar said she had to brush up on her skills as she had three songs in the film. In the song Hadd Kar De, Chhillar talked about how the choreography required her to be ‘precise’ and display her dancing skills as best as she could.

Chhillar also had to pick up skills such as archery and horse riding as well for the film, and said she had a lot of fun learning them. Although the actress did go horse riding as a child, the actress revealed that she lacked experience in holding the reins and galloping with the animal. “I'm a student of art. So, every day was special on the sets of the film because I could learn so much and return the next day, hungry for more," she added.

Akshay Kumar stars as the titular protagonist in the film, which also features Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood. Chandraprakash Dwivedi has directed the film.

Prithviraj will be released in theatres on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
