Actor-director Sundar C, who had quit directing Thalaivar 173, had announced his project with Vishal, which will reunite the two forces after the release of their film Madha Gaja Raja last year, Aambala and Action. The makers of the film, on Wednesday, dropped a new update on social media. The title of the film is Purushan.

Sundar C and Vishal have given films like Aambala and Action. Their last release was Madha Gaja Raja, a film that had remained unreleased for 12 years and went on to become a blockbuster when hit theatres for Pongal 2025. Recently, Sundar C and Vishal had announced their collaboration. The makers on Wednesday announced the title of the film through a 5-minute-long glimpse.

The glimpse shows Tamannaah watching a television serial and being engrossed in that. Vishal, presumably her husband, is seen sweeping the floor. Meanwhile Yogi Babu who appears in the serial, comes to their home with Tamannaah adoring him. Meanwhile, we see Tamannaah asking Vishal to put a cup of tea, while inside the kitchen we see some goons entering the house. Vishal finishes them off, with Yogi Babu being visibly shocked. Tamannah who looks unaware of all the happenings, continue to order her husband. The title is later revealed to be Purushan.

Tamannaah and Yogi Babu will be playing prominent roles in the film, which will have music by Hiohop Tamizha Adhi. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Venkatt Ragavan, with the technical crew including cinematographer Gopi Amarnath and editor Roger.

Is Sundar C directing Thalaivar 173?

No. Sundar C was announced as the director of Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 173, produced by Kamal Haasan. However, within a week of its announcement, Sundar C had quit the project due to reasons unknown. Subsequently, Cibi Chakravarthy is now directing Rajinikanth in the project with the film planned for a theatrical release for Pongal 2027.
