Raj B Shetty gets candid on the prospect of Midway To Moksha with Rakshit Shetty and Rishab Shetty

Midway To Moksha is a film that Rakshit Shetty had mooted with himself, Rishab Shetty and Raj B Shetty together onscreen. Rakshit and Raj even wrote it together, but will it ever get done?

One film that cinephiles, especially in Karnataka, have been looking forward to is a project that actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty mooted, which would bring the three ‘R’s of Kannada cinema – Rakshit, Rishab Shetty and Raj B Shetty – together onscreen. While there have been films that have seen either Rakshit collaborate with Rishab, Raj with Rakshit or Rishab with Raj, having all 3 together is the masterstroke that was widely anticipated. Rakshit called it Midway to Moksha, which has roles meant for each of them, but did not set a timeline on when he would get down to doing it, as his priority was in getting Richard Anthony and Punyakoti (a two-part film) done before that.

Raj on Midway to Moksha: Don't think there is a chance now

Nevertheless, fans have remained hopeful that this trio would get together after all at some point. Raj, who has been busy with promotions of his latest production venture, Su From So, in which he has a pivotal role as well, has an update on the project which may be disappointing for fans. During an interaction with aspiring filmmakers in Hyderabad, Raj was asked about it and he said, “I don’t think there is any chance now because Rishab is too big and too busy now and Rakshit is tied up with Richard Anthony,” said Raj.

The actor-filmmaker, who co-wrote Midway To Moksha with Rakshit, added, “Rishab will be busy for the next 2-3 years with the projects he is currently committed to, including a few in Telugu, like Hanuman and another as-yet-untitled one. So, I don’t think Midway to Moksha will happen anytime soon.

During the promotions of his last release Sapta Sagaradaache Ello (which came out in two parts), Rakshit had said that Midway to Moksha getting made would depend on the willingness of all the actors to be a part of a small film. Since the success of Kantara, Rishab has only been taking up big-budget pan-India projects and has excused himself from all his earlier smaller commitments in Kannada, like Bachelor Party, Laughing Buddha, etc.
