Rajani Bharadwaj is the leading lady of Srujan Lokesh’s debut directorial, GST, which hits theatres on November 28. The film's story and ensemble cast are major highlights, she reckons.

When Rajani Bharadwaj was announced as the leading lady of the Kannada film Ghosts in Trouble, the first impression that most people had was that the actress is becoming a horror film specialist. Her recent film outings were Kamaro 2 (the sequel of Kamarottu Checkpost) and Choo Mantar, both of which had a strong paranormal subject at its core. Ghosts in Trouble, shortened to GST, is a horror comedy, but this time, Rajani assures that the focus of the film is laughs and not scares.

Ghosts in Trouble is Talking Star Srujan Lokesh’s directorial debut and features a bunch of ghosts as main characters. “They are not meant to provide scares; instead, they unintentionally become the source for some of the film’s comedic moments. Most importantly, I am not playing a ghost in the film,” says Rajani. In fact, the actress is Srujan’s romantic interest in the film, which she describes as a “bubbly character”, and refrains from divulging more details.
The actress reiterates that she wants audiences to know that GST is a “pakka comedy film, which has comedy within the horror elements.” The interesting element of the film that is based on a story by Srujan is that unlike routine paranormal tales in which ghosts trouble humans, here, the ghosts are in trouble and need human intervention to solve it.

Rajani says that she decided to be a part of the film without a full-fledged narration, because she was quite confident that Srujan would do a good job at making people laugh, something he’s been doing for years with his TV shows. She was also excited about being a part of the cast, which included the likes of Girija Lokesh, Ravishankar Gowda, Giri Shivanna, Sunder Veena, Tabla Nani, Veena Sunder, Shobraj, Sharath Lohithashwa, Vinod Gobbragala, Mahantesh Hiremath and Niveditha Gowda, among many others.
