Kantara, which went on to become a smashing hit in Karnataka, was dubbed into different languages and released in other states a couple of weeks later. The movie, which was appreciated for its rooted flavour, surprised the trade by attracting audiences in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north India as well.

The film's collection only from north Indian states has breached 25 crore mark and is on the way to outsmart Karthikeya 2, another hit south film which made waves in north India recently. Many actors and filmmakers from other industries have been showring praise on the film, actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty and production house Hombale Films.

Now, none other than Rajinikanth has heaped praise on the Sandalwood movie. The Superstar has taken to his Twitter page to say that he was smitten by the concept "The unknown is more than the known" in the film and that it gave him goosebumps.

He wholeheartedly congratulated Rishab and appreciated his skills as a director, actor and a writer. He went on to say that the movie is a masterpiece and showered praise on the entire cast and crew.

An elated Rishab couldn't control his excitement after seeing the tweet from his matinee idol. He said that he has always been a fan of Rajinikanth from his childhood and that the appreciation from him is a dream come true moment for him.

Rishab thanked him profusely and said that it is the Superstar who has been inspiring him to do more local stories. Fans of the film and Rishab are excited with the unexpected praise from Rajinikanth. Dhanush, Prabhas, Nani, Prithviraj and Adivi Sesh were a few actors from other languages who went gaga over the movie recently.
