The ambitious and highly publicized action fantasy series Rakt Bramhand - The Bloody Kingdom on Netflix India reportedly faced a challenge. The Raj & DK series, which features Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal, has reportedly been beset by financial issues.

Audit uncovers financial mismanagement and irregularities

As per Peeping Moon, the executive producer of the series is now facing accusations of financial theft on set, with an undisclosed amount ranging from Rs 2–3 crore allegedly stolen from the production. A source close to the production disclosed that there are severe concerns regarding the financial management of Rakt Bramhand. The series has only been shot for 26 days since filming began in September 2024, and yet half of the budget has already been spent.

The scheme allegedly came to light following an audit that uncovered serious financial mismanagement and other accounting irregularities. Because of these differences, Netflix and D2R Films are said to have started a full investigation into all of their business activities, both inside and outside of the company, as well as their interactions with third-party vendors. Since the investigation is ongoing, however, all details regarding the anomalies and associated matters have remained secret.

Revisions during filming and script issues

Mismanagement is plainly evident here. Which producers have granted executive producers the authority to sign checks and remove money without legal approval? There are rumblings that this executive producer has acted dishonestly on prior productions as well. According to an informed trade source, Raj & DK and Netflix should have conducted comprehensive due diligence prior to his appointment.

The series is dealing with creative issues in addition to financial ones. Rumor has it that Rahi Anil Barve, the director, and Sita R. Menon, the writer, have been revising screenplays while filming, which has irked Netflix. The streaming platform has given Raj & DK a lot of creative leeway, but they're having trouble working together because there isn't a bound script.

Production plans for April filming

Fortunately, the series is still on track to continue production in April despite these creative and budgetary setbacks. In the midst of the ongoing inquiry into financial issues, the filmmakers are busy getting ready for their next outdoor action schedule.

Rahi Anil Barve, renowned for his work on Tumbbad formally announced Rakt Bramhand in July 2024. The riveting, edgy story set in a mythical country with amazing sights and bloody action is what this massive series, which is described as a big action fantasy, promises.

With this project, Raj & DK will return to Netflix after the moderately successful Guns & Gulaabs.
