As per a report, Ranbir Kapoor is working on reviving RK Films, and he might do a film opposite Deepika Padukone. The film is expected to be directed by Ayan Mukerji.

Well, their dream can finally be true as Mid-Day reported that Ranbir Kapoor is working on reviving RK Films to do a film opposite Deepika Padukone, directed by Ayan Mukerji.

Earlier, it was reported that Ranbir Kapoor is planning to revive the RK Films, which was founded by the late filmmaker and his grandfather, Raj Kapoor. Now, the above-mentioned portal has reported that Ranbir will reunite with Deepika Padukone for a contemporary reimagining of ‘Chori Chori’ (1956) which will be produced under the RK Films.

“There is a lot of excitement in Ranbir’s camp. He wants the RK Films’ comeback movie to feel like something his grandfather would have made, only told in today’s language," the source added.

Meanwhile, Ranbir wants his close friend Ayan Mukerji to direct the movie. The source added, “Ayan has been developing the script for months. He doesn’t want to rush it since it’s a prestige project.” Rumours suggest that the love story will be set on a large canvas, with parts of it being filmed in international locations.

“It’s possible that the announcement regarding the studio’s revival will be made as early as December 14, which is Raj saab’s birthday. The movie, however, has yet to take concrete shape,” added the source.

During a live session on Instagram on the occasion of his birthday, Ranbir Kapoor was asked to share an update on 'director RK.' To this, Kapoor said, "I am dying to direct a movie. I have actually started a writer's room recently, and I am trying to inspire myself with the 2 ideas I have been starting to work on it but it's definitely on my to-do list in the next couple of years."

Meanwhile, Ranbir was recently seen in Dining With The Kapoors, a Netflix special docuseries. He has two films in the pipeline: Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War.
