Ranveer Singh has been grabbing attention for several reasons. After the magnificent success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh exited Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 and engaged in a heated clash with the makers for his move. Recently, the actor deployed armed forces in his residential area after he received threat messages on WhatsApp for a huge ransom. Reportedly, Ranveer has now hit back at the makers for their compensation claims, citing Shah Rukh Khan and Baiju Bawra.
Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated collaboration in Don 3 was called off after the actor decided to quit the movie. The makers then engaged in an intense feud and sought legal action and compensation of Rs. 40 crore for the losses incurred in the pre-production by Excel Entertainment. In a private meeting with both parties, it is allegedly reported that Ranveer defended his exit, saying that they are in such a business where compensations are not liable because of the nature of the industry, as sometimes the project gets shelved or takes a back seat due to other reasons.
The Dhurandhar actor cited that he prepared for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra for nearly a year, but the project was eventually shelved. The director then began working on Love & War with actors Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The Bajirao Mastani actor added that during that time period he rejected several films but did not demand any compensation for his lost time and efforts. The report also added that Ranveer mentioned if Shah Rukh Khan, who headlined Don and Don 2, had agreed to do Don 3 as well, then the Dhurandhar star would have been instantly replaced without any compensatory amount. Hence, asking for any compensation for the pre-production thing is not justified.
“Ranveer claims he left the project because he wasn’t happy with the script. He kept asking for changes to be made and didn’t like what the final draft read. Excel, on the other hand, claims that they went ahead with pre-production only after Singh gave his go-ahead,” an anonymous source revealed.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently gearing up for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which will hit the screens on March 19, coinciding with Eid. Fans are eagerly waiting for the action thriller sequel. Will Dhurandhar 2 beat Dhurandhar’s powerful and steady records? Only time will tell.
