Raththam: THIS leading OTT platform bags the digital rights of Vijay Antony's crime drama

Cinephiles were excited when CS Amudhan, who helmed two successful spoof films, announced his third directorial venture. Titled Raththam, the project was billed as a crime drama headlined by Vijay Antony. Mahima Nambiar, Ramya Nambeesan and Nandita Swetha among others were roped in to play key roles.

The project, which was supposed to hit the screens on September 28, was postponed by a week owing to a few other releases. It was finally released on Friday and opened to mixed responses. Some of the ideas in the film are being raved about, but the execution is garnering criticism.      

THIS leading platform bags the OTT rights of Raththam

Amazon Prime has acquired the film's digital rights. The movie is likely to drop on the platform after four weeks of its theatrical release. The OTT release date will be announced after three weeks.

Raththam is the second movie of Vijay to be released on Amazon Prime post the theatrical release. Kolai, which was released in theatres in July, also had its digital premiere on the platform in August.        

Vijay Antony is set for a new concert

The musician-turned-actor organized a concert in Chennai a few days ago. The event received appreciation among music lovers for the manner in which it was appropriately organized. It is now heard that he is all set to conduct another concert. He will be making an announcement soon.

Vijay hit the headlines for a few more reasons this year. He had four outings in 2023 and met with a major accident during the shooting of Pichaikkaran 2. A few weeks ago, his daughter committed suicide, leaving his fans and the Tamil film industry shocked.
