Ravike Prasanga, directed by Santhosh Kodenkeri, is a courtroom drama between an aggrieved customer and a tailor that arises after his ‘masterpiece’ creation causes issues for her

Sari users across the country will know how important it is to have a well designed and fitting blouse to go with it. This, of course, is tricky business and requires the art of finding the perfect tailor, who either has a flair for design or can, at least, follow instructions and recreate something from an image.
A woman’s relationship with a tailor is sacrosanct, so you can imagine what can happen if the latter breaks that trust. Well, that is more or less the backdrop of the story of Ravike Prasanga, an upcoming Kannada film featuring Geetha Bharathi Bhat, which will be in theatres shortly.
The trailer of the film, directed by Santhosh Kodenkeri, based on a story by his wife Pavana Santhosh, who has also written the dialogues, was released a while ago, and features Geetha Bharathi Bhat as Saanvi, a young heavy set unmarried woman whose desire to wear a designer blouse to meet a prospective groom turns problematic. Unable to afford n a dream design, Saanvi asks local tailor Chandra (Sampath Maitreya) to replicate it, which he agrees, provided she drops a few kilos to fit into it.
What happens when the said blouse arrives forms the crux of the narrative, with Saanvi deciding to take Chandra to court. Did she not live up to her end of the bargain, or did Chandra ruin the design of her dreams? What did Chandra do to Saanvi that prompted her to find legal recourse. How this case affects Saanvi and Chandra and more becomes part of Ravike Prasanga’s narrative.

The film also stars Suman Ranganath, Rakesh Maiya, Padmaja Rao, Kushi Achar, Hanumantha Rao, Praveen Atharva, among others. Ravike Prasanga is Geetha’s first release since last year’s Mankubhai Foxy Rani, in which she was paired with Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 winner Roopesh Shetty.
The actress has been on a fitness journey for a while, which worked perfectly for the narrative of Ravike Prasanga. The makers were earlier hopeful of making the film a 2023 release, but could not and the trailer release is indication that they will announce a theatrical outing shortly.
