Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 5 is one of the most-awaited films. Rohit and Ajay Devgn are all set to reunite for the 14th time in the OG comedy franchise.

During the theatrical screening of Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2, Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 5 was subtly confirmed. Later, a report mentioned that the shooting for the film would begin in March 2026. Now, another report claimed that Golmaal 5 will feature the original cast alongside the first-ever female villain.

According to a report by PTI, Golmaal 5 will star Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu, while Sharman Joshi will also join the cast again - rekindling a connection with the original film. The supporting actors, such as Johnny Lever, Ashwini Kaleshkar, Mukesh Tiwari and Sanjay Mishra, are also expected to return.

The report indicated that the fifth instalment will be a fantasy comedy, with the franchise’s signature humour now mixed with elements of fictional or surreal storytelling, which can elevate the stakes beyond the prank-driven situational comedy of previous entries.

Meanwhile, one of the biggest twists in Golmaal 5 is the plan to introduce the franchise's first female villain. While casting talks are reportedly underway, the makers have decided to craft the story with a woman as the antagonist, a first for the series. “This story was written in a manner that the negative character is (played by) a woman,” the insider shared.

Golmaal 5 shoot update

Mid-Day earlier reported that Ajay Devgn will begin shooting for Golmaal 5 in March 2026, A source close to the production told the portal, “Director Abhishek Pathak wants to ensure that the storytelling is as taut as the first two parts. The team plans to begin shooting in Goa by December and wrap up by March 2026.”

According to the report, Paresh Rawal has also joined the cast. Talking about Kareena Kapoor Khan's return to the Golmaal franchise, the portal mentioned, "Kareena shares great chemistry with Ajay. Since she led Golmaal Returns [2008] and Golmaal 3 [2010], her presence brings a nostalgic charm. The cast will be finalised by December-end.”
