Disney+ Hotstar is leaving no stone unturned to promote Ajay Devgn's Rudra: The Edge of Darkness a Hindi adaptation of the BBC series Luther. Previously, the platform unveiled Devgn and Rashii Khanna's digital avatars, followed by installing Devgn's hologram in Mumbai's Bandra.

"This holographic experience created an everlasting impact on the viewers leaving them more curious than ever before," states a press release.

Disney+ Hotstar has also partnered with Smaash, a city-based virtual reality arena, created a gaming and entertainment centre with the themeTodphod’, playing to the catchphrase used by Devgn's character.

On March 10, Disney+ Hotstar had shared a brief video showcasing how the elaborate hologram set-up was created on the promenade. The video also shows passersby looking at the spectacle in awe and also taking photos of it.

Rudra is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, known for films like Ferrari ki Sawaari and Marathi comedy-drama Ventilator. The show follows Devgn's DCP Rudra Veer Singh who tracks down highly intelligent criminals wreaking havoc in the city of Mumbai.

The cast also includes Esha Deol in her digital debut, Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tarun Gahlot, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Satyadeep Misra. Applause Entertainment has produced the show in association with BBC Studios India.
