It looks like Sai Pallavi has stirred a hornet's nest by talking about sensitive issues during the promotion of her upcoming release Virata Parvam. While speaking to a leading Telugu film portal, the actress spoke about the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits and attacks on Muslims by cow vigilantes.

A video clip of her equating the killings of both Pandits and Muslims have been doing the rounds on Twitter, and her name has been trending on the social media platform. Unsurprisingly, she has been receiving criticism from the right wing as they feel that she is clueless about the genocide of Pandits. Some of them even expressed regret for liking her films, and vowed not to watch her movies any more.

On the other hand, many are praising her courage to talk against targeting Muslims for allegedly stealing cows in a few parts of the country. In the interview, she is seen saying that there isn't any difference between persecution of Pandits and hate-mongering against Muslims.

She said, "I grew up in a politically neutral background. I never knew who among the left wing or right wing made sense. We have seen how Pandits were ill-treated in the recently released The Kashmir Files (streaming on Zee5), right? What's the difference between what they faced and the religious polarization Muslims are facing now?"

She added, "During the pandemic time, I came across a video which has a Muslim man getting attacked and was forced to chant Jai Sriram. Both these are acts of crime, acts of violence."

Virata Parvam, which has the actress sharing screen space with Rana Daggubati, is hitting the screens on June 17. The film is her first outing in 2022. Shyam Singha Roy (streaming on Netflix) was her previous release.
