Saif Ali Khan- Arjun Kapoor starrer Bhoot Police trailer out, receives mixed responses

The trailer of the upcoming horror comedy Bhoot Police released today on August 18 is receiving mixed responses. The trailer shows Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor as fake ‘babas’ who are called by Yami Gautam to exorcise an evil spirit in her town.

While some movie-goers say that they are happy to see Saif Ali Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez paired together after Race 2 others call it a totally ‘unnecessary’ film. Many have commented on the trailer saying that Arjun Kapoor’s acting has improved. Praises are all in for Saif Ai Khan too for his acting skills and comedy timing. Many are intrigued about how the movie is going to be and are ready to give it a shot by watching it anyways. On Twitter, netizens are all talking about the star cast and expressing their eagerness for the film.

But on the other hand, many think horror comedies are becoming repetitive after movies like Stree and Roohi and are criticising makers of the films for ‘not being confident with the final product and dumping them on OTT’.

OTTPlay spoke to a couple of film lovers too to learn their reactions on the trailer.

Mani, a hairstylist in Kochi, finds the star cast interesting and their acting amazing but feels that the movie is going to be ‘boring’. Well, these are his words, not ours!

His friend Passang, another hairstylist, mocked the ghost in the film. He said, “The ghost in the trailer looks like a poor version of the supernatural being in the Hollywood movie The Mummy 1999” and laughed. Jeevan Varghese, a software professional, said that he would take a chance and give it a watch for its star cast and appealing visuals, even though he feels it has nothing new to offer. “It is the same concept that is rehashed again and again. I do not like the blend of horror and comedy. But the actors are hotshots and the visuals look very appealing. So, I would like to watch the movie,” he said.

Directed by Pawan Kripalani under the banner of Tips Industries, the film is slated for a release on September 17.
