Mango Pachcha was meant to be the Kannada film for Sankranti, but then the makers pulled out of that race and hinted at a February end release. No official announcement has been made yet

Sanchith Sanjeev, the nephew of Kannada star Kiccha Sudeep, was meant to make his acting debut with Mango Pachcha in January. The film, directed by debutant Viveka, was announced as a Sankranti 2026 release, but was then pulled out of that race, citing delays in post-production. At the time, the producers had hinted at a possible theatrical release in the third or fourth week of February, but they are yet to make an official announcement. The third week is already crammed with multiple Kannada releases, as also the fourth. The ICC Cricket World Cup is also ongoing and major play-off matches are scheduled for this window, with the final on March 8.

No major releases have been lined up for early March, given that Rocking Star Yash’s Toxic is arriving on the 19th and expected to take up a bulk of the screens. The film, according to sources, is unlikely to release in April or May, given that it is exam and IPL season. The 2026 IPL begins in the last week of March and goes on till the end of May. Kannada filmmakers have often pointed out that this is not a conducive release window. The next best bet is a June release, reckon sources.
Mango Pachcha, meanwhile, was announced as Sanchith’s debut, after his initial attempt to launch himself with a directorial called Jimmy did not take off. The debutant has said that the film has not been shelved, and will be revisited at a later stage, given that it is meant to be made on a much bigger scale.
