Karthi has had three releases this year, with PS Mithran's Sardar being the latest one. The movie, which was released on October 21, clashed with Sivakarthikeyan's Prince at the box office, and was adjudged as the Deepavali winner by critics and the audience.

The spy thriller is currently Karthi's second highest grossing project and is on the way to become his biggest hit ever. Movie buffs are waiting to know if it will outsmart Kaithi to be the actor's numero uno film in the coming days. Sardar has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan playing female leads in it.

Buoyed by the movie's success, producer Lakshman Kumar has now gifted a swanky car to director PS Mithran. Karthi handed over the key to the filmmaker, and the pictures have been doing the rounds on social media. Mithran had announced officially at the movie's success meet recently that Sardar 2 is definitely on cards.

Engaging screenplay, relatable emotions and riveting conflicts are the major positives of Sardar which has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Chunky Panday plays the antagonist in the film which has Laila and Munishkanth among others essaying important characters.

The theatrical rights of the movie bankrolled by Prince Pictures was acquired by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies. Sardar will soon start streaming on aha Tamil. The digital platform had bagged its digital rights long ago. This is the second film which has Karthi playing dual roles after Siva's Siruthai.

Viruman and Ponniyin Selvan are the other two films of the actor which were released this year. All the three movies, which hit the screens in a span of less than 75 days, have become hits at the box office.
