The latest series, Secret Stories Roslin joins the list of Malayalam thrillers with its plot revolving around a teenage girl, troubled by nightmares of a stalker with green eyes. When Jerry turns up at her house as a guest, Roslin is convinced that he is the stalker, even when her parents, John (Vineeth) and Shobha (Meena), do not buy her claims. So is Hakim Shahjahan’s Jerry the stalker of Roslin? Here’s a look at what happens in the climax of the Sumesh Nandakumar-directed series (spoilers ahead)!

What happens in the climax of Secret Stories Roslin

Penned by Vinayak Sasikumar, Secret Stories Roslin follows the teenage girl who is disturbed by the presence of Jerry at her house as a paying guest. That he stays in her late brother Allen’s room adds to her misery. But sweet-talking Jerry wins over her parents even as unsettling events of farm animals found dead pop up.

Eventually, Roslin manages to chase Jerry out of the house in the fifth episode. She is doubly happy as her parents also shower her with gifts, including a two-wheeler, phone and surprisingly, a promise of owning their entire property on her 18th birthday. But the sixth and final episode - A Night to Remember - begins with Jerry returning to the house. He sheds his sweet image, attacks and overpowers John. He even hits Shobha as she picks up Roslin and storms out of the house. This directly sits in line with Roslin's fear that he is out to harm her and the family. Or is he?

But another assailant attacks Jerry, and Roslin rushes to her father John who has also reached the courtyard. Though he initially hugs her, John mercilessly throws her at the feet of the attacker. Amid this, Shobha who was also attacked by her househelp Velu comes out and Roslin runs towards her, only to suffer a slap right across the face. A shell-shocked Roslin is left uttering Amma from the ground, even as Jerry tells her that ‘no, she is not your Amma’.

Is Jerry Roslin’s stalker?

It is then revealed that Jerry is not the stalker but a police officer who has been assigned to look into a murder investigation and protect Roslin from John and Shobha, who are not her real parents. But the series does not give an adequate explanation of the stalker aspect, and it is left for viewers to assume that the stalker phobia was construed, probably by Roslin's grief-stricken mind over the guilt of her brother's loss.

Who are John and Shobha?

Shobha used to work as a maid at the house of Roslin’s real parents. But in an accident, Roslin’s father dies and her mother, Angel, is left bedridden. Angel leaves all her vast property to her baby and puts John and Shobha as her caretakers. If something happens to Roslin before the age of 18, then the wealth would pass on to a charitable organisation. John and Shobha then moved to their current home and built a new life with Roslin as their daughter. However, their own son Allen is killed while trying to save Roslin from drowning. Now, Shobha wants revenge and wealth as the couple then plot Roslin’s murder.

How is John and Shobha’s ploy revealed?

John and Shobha had sought the help of an aide named Antony, who is now married to Mary, to commit the crime. But Mary, a former nun, dissuades her husband from committing more crimes. When Antony conveys his reluctance, Shobha lashes out at him. When Antony goes missing, Mary informs the police, who then assign Jerry to the case.
