Actors Manasi Parekh and Swapnil Joshi's latest Gujarati release, Shubhchintak dropped on ShemarooMe ( also accessible via OTTplay Premium) on December 18. Directed by Nisarg Vaidya, the dark-comedy thriller made its theatrical release in May this year. The story follows Meghana (Manasi Parekh) and her friends as they seek revenge on a corrupt businessman by honey-trapping him, which leads to unexpected twists and moral dilemmas. Things get further complicated as Inspector (Swapnil Joshi) gets involved, and hidden truths begin to unravel. The movie explores the question of whether vengeance brings closure or causes more destruction. Shubhchintak grossed Rs 1.77 crore from Gujarat and Rs 1.96 crore at the worldwide box office, as per tracker Sacnilk.

Manasi Parekh's experience of working on a dark-comedy thriller

Back in May, lead actress Manasi Parekh talked to FilmiBeat and shared her experience as Maghana in Shubhchintak. She shared that as an actor, she wanted to push boundaries, especially in Gujarati cinema, where people often believe only family dramas work. But when this movie came her way, the idea of a girl honey-trapping a guy, taking him on a date, and actually kidnapping him for ransom was quite interesting to Manasi. Manasi further stated that her character Meghana has a backstory that explains why she does what she does, and that really pulled her into the project.
