Fans of Silambarasan are eagerly awaiting the release of Pathu Thala which will hit the screens on March 30. The gangster flick helmed by Obeli N Krishna is expected to provide the much-needed boost to the star's career. Though he made a comeback with Maanaadu in 2021, his previous outing Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu was an average grosser.

Despite a few speculations on his forthcoming projects, no official announcements were made. He was supposed to do Corona Kumar under the helm of Gokul of Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame. However, the actor opted out of the project owing to reasons best known to him.

A movie with Sudha Kongara was said to be on cards, but it never materialized. Amid reports of him joining hands with AR Murugadoss, we now hear that he is teaming up with Desingh Periyasamy of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal. The filmmaker, who made a smashing debut with the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer in 2020, is yet to make his second directorial project.

An announcement on the same is likely to happen soon. Anirudh Ravichander might be roped in to compose music for the untitled film. The musician has never been a part of Silambarasan-starrer. The duo had revealed a few months ago that they will work together soon.

Desingh, a self-proclaimed fan of Rajinikanth, was supposed to do a project for the Superstar under AGS Entertainment's banner. However, the movie didn't take off despite pre-production activities happening for sometime. Mysskin and Murugadoss are other filmmakers Silambarasan is expected to join hands with.

The sequel to Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is also on the cards, but the filmmaker is yet to give an update on his plans for the second part. He is currently busy with the last leg shooting of Dhruva Natchathiram and expressed interest to direct a sequel for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, too.
