Sundarakanda is Nara Rohith's comeback film, which started with a positive word of mouth right from its premiere shows. But sadly, this has not translated into collections, which is disappointing. The family drama has been in theaters for four days and has managed to make only ₹1.7 crore to date, which is quite shocking and low.

The comedy caper earned around ₹54 lakh on day one, and the following days saw collections drop below that mark. On Saturday, it made just Rs 45 lakhs. Directed by Venkatesh Nimmalapudi, the film was in the making for close to five years and finally hit the screens on August 27, 2025.

The reviews were quite good but the occupancy has been quite low. Sundarakanda saw passable occupancy on Saturday, and the same was the case on Sunday as well. Once the weekdays start, Sundarakanda will surely be out of theaters as occupancy is expected to drop further.

The film is about a man in his early 40s falling in love with both a mother and her daughter. This tricky subject has been showcased impressively by the director. The makers promoted the film aggressively, but there are still no takers for it in theaters. The low turnout for Sundarakanda once again shows that today’s audience is only picking big-ticket films to watch in theaters.
