Sunny Deol is one of the most versatile actors in the industry. He has been entertaining fans with his acting talent for over 40 years now. The actor is now all set to be seen in Border 2 and Lahore 1947. Amid this, a report mentioned that he is also in talks to reunite with Anil Sharma on a larger-than-life action-drama titled Coal King.

Update on Sunny Deol's Coal King

As per a Pinkvilla report, filmmaker Anil Sharma recently met Sunny Deol and had a discussion about a larger-than-life action-drama titled Coal King. The report mentioned that Sunny will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar in the action film.

“Anil Sharma and Sunny Deol have been discussing several original ideas over the last 2 years – and the one which has excited both of them at this point of time is a larger-than-life drama set against the backdrop of Coal Mafia. It’s titled Coal King and features Sunny Deol in a never-before-seen avatar. The script is written, and it is all work in progress on the dialogue draft at the moment," the report added.

Gadar 3 update

The same portal also shared that Anil Sharma is also working on Gadar 3 and it is a big-scale period action film. A decision on his next film will be made by the end of this year, but three scripts are currently being worked on simultaneously.

About Border 2

Border 2 is a patriotic Bollywood sequel to the 1997 film Border, directed by Anurag Singh. The film will star Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, with a plot presumably set during the Kargil War to honour Indian soldiers' sacrifice and courage. It is scheduled to be released on January 22, 2026.

Apart from these, Sunny Deol also has Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. He will play Lord Hanuman and will be rejoining the shoot towards the end of 2025.
