She opened up about actors getting judged easily and even losing out on work. "People don’t realize how many doors get closed on you when you take a stand like this. It’s happened to me. I was denied work," she shared.

"In India, if you are an actor, you can’t grieve," Krissann Barretto said, adding that people automatically assume that you speak up to gain attention. "Just because you’re in front of a camera, they think you’re performing. There’s no room for genuine emotion," she added.

The Supreme Court recently passed their verdict in the SSR case and declared that the actor died by suicide. They found no foul play involved. Almost immediately, celebrities came together and demanded that Rhea Chakraborty, who was imprisoned during the trial, receive an apology letter for all the public and media scrutiny. Meanwhile, Barretto has mentioned having no regrets about trying to speak on behalf of her friend, even if it made her lose out on projects. But she definitely made sure to point out the reasons why celebrities refuse to comment on sensitive matters like the SSR case.
