Tehran OTT Release Date: After a long wait, the makers have finally announced that John Abraham's geopolitical action-thriller will have a direct-to-OTT release.

John Abraham's geopolitical action thriller Tehran previously made headlines as there was confusion about whether the film would be released in theaters or would have a direct-to-OTT release. On July 31, the makers finally announced that Tehran will directly land on ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium).

On July 31, the makers of Tehran announced that John Abraham's geopolitical action-thriller will be released on ZEE5 via OTTplay Premium during Independence Week, August 14. The trailer will be out on August 1. They captioned the post, "Dilli mein ek blast ne sirf ek embassy nahi, ek soye hue junoon ko jaga diya. #Tehran coming this Independence Week, only on #ZEE5. #TehranOnZEE5"

Not only this, but they have also shared the first look of John in Tehran. A part of his face can be seen wounded as he targets something.

Tehran is an upcoming Hindi action-thriller starring John Abraham and Manushi Chhillar in the lead roles. It's a geopolitical thriller based on real-life events and the Russo-Ukrainian war. The film is directed by Arun Gopalan and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Sandeep Leyzell, and Shobhna Yadav. The writers of Tehran are Ritesh Shah and Ashish Prakash Verma.

Speaking about Tehran, John shared that if anyone is invested in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, and wonders what China is doing, what Iran is doing, where does Palestine fit in this whole thing, then Tehran is about them. He also called it a 'stunning' film.

Bollywood Hungama earlier reported the reason behind opting for OTT release for Tehran and shared, “Tehran has a run time of less than two hours and moreover, it's not just a Hindi language film. To maintain authenticity, certain dialogues are also in Farsi and English. Hence, the makers realized that it would suit the OTT medium more.”
