Telugu actor Fish Venkat, who is known for doing character roles, died due to kidney failure on Friday

Telugu actor Venkat Raj who is popularly known as Fish Venkat and appeared in character roles, passed away on Thursday. The late actor was 53 at the time of death. Fish Venkat had succumbed to kidney-related illness that he had been battling for quite some time.

Fish Venkat, the actor working in Telugu film industry died on Friday due to organ failure. He was 53 at the time of death. Fish Venkat was uniquely known for his Telangana dialect, and earned a name for his comic timing as well. He had been under the hospital treatment for a while before he took his last breath.

As per reports, only a few days before, there were speculations that his family was asking for financial help for his treatment, with a few actors tending to the family’s needs. However a call from Prabhas giving support was dismissed as a scam and untrue. Fish Venkat had shared screen space with actors like Pawan Kalyan, Allari Naresh, Ravi Teja to name a few. Ever since his debut in 2000, Fish Venkat had been active and had over two decades of experience as an actor.
Born on August 3, 1971 in Andhra Pradesh's Machilipatnam as Mangalampalli Venkatesh, he soon became to be known as Fish Venkat. The actor had appeared in character and supporting roles in Telugu cinema. He made his debut with the 2000 film Sammakka Sarakka directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. Fish Venkat went on to star in films like Kushi, Dil, Bunny, Ready and more.

The late actor has nearly 100 films to his credit. In the latest, he starred in films like DJ Tillu, S5 No Exit, Slum Dog Husband. His last onscreen appearance is the 2025 Telugu film Coffee with a Killer. We at OTTplay, pay our condolences to Fish Venkat’s demise and his bereaving family.
