Thamma plot

Thamma is a 2025 Bollywood horror-comedy film and the fifth instalment in the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe after Stree Stree2, Bhediya, and Munjya. It follows the story of a journalist who becomes entangled with a group of mythical vampire-like creatures and has to stop their tyrannical leader from preying on humanity.

The film follows the story of Alok, played by Ayushmann, a historian and a modern-day journalist, who researches Indian vampire folklore. Accidentally, his research wakes an ancient, powerful vampire named Yakshasan, who bites him. He transforms into a vampire, or 'Betaal' and meets Tadaka, a mysterious vampire. Gradually, Alok and Tadaka fall in love. While Yakshasan seeks revenge for Alok and Tadaka's forbidden love, Alok uses his supernatural identity to save his love and stop Yakshasan's dark reign.

Meanwhile, after its theatrical run, Thamma will be released on Prime Video (subscribers of OTTplay Premium will also be able to watch the film with a top-up) in phases. It will be available for rent starting December 2, 2025, with a full streaming release for all subscribers on December 16, 2025.
