Thamma out on OTT: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's horror comedy film is now streaming on OTT. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film has performed decently at the box office.

Ayushmann Khurrana in Thamma 

Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is the latest film from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe after Stree Stree 2, Bhediya, and Munjya. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresg Rawal, the film was released in cinemas in October 2025. From December 2, Thamma was made available for rent on Prime Video, but from December 16, the film is streaming for all subscribers.

From December 16, Thamma has been streaming on Prime Video (subscribers of OTTplay Premium will also be able to watch the movie with a top-up) for all subscribers. The film is 2 hours and 45 minutes long.

Thamma plot

Thamma is based on Indian folklore and begins with an ancient legend of a wild leader named Yakshasan, who attacked humans during Alexander's invasion and later the Partition of India. His own clan eventually imprisoned him in a cave because of his uncontrollable bloodlust.

In the present day, journalist Alok Goel has a strange encounter with a wild bear and is taken care of and brought back to life by Tadaka, a mysterious girl who is a Betaal. Alok discovers that he is in a jungle where the tribe has its own rules. Gradually, Alok and Tadaka fall in love, and she is drawn into his world. After an accident, Alok is also transformed into a bloodsucking werewolf, which complicates their forbidden love and forces him to struggle with his lost humanity.

The narrative now escalates when Alok and Tadaka have to fight the powerful and resurrected Yakshasan to save humanity from its terror. The story has connections to other films in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, featuring several characters from Stree and Bhediya, where the heroes struggle with supernatural forces and their fate. Ultimately, Alok defeats Yakshasan and becomes the new "Thamma" (leader) of the Betaals.

Thamma stars Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok Goyal, Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan, Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal, Faisal Malik as Yadav, Geeta Agarwal Sharma as Alok's mother, Abhishek Banerjee in a cameo role as Jana from the movie Stree, Varun Dhawan and Nora Fatehi in special cameo appearances.

Meanwhile, Thamma collected Rs. 134.78 crore in total at the domestic box office, while its worldwide collection is Rs. 187.59 crore, as per Sacnilk.
