The Telugu romantic action film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, has got a thumbs-up from fans online who are showering love on the lead pair of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. After Thandel made its grand release in theatres on Friday, fans caught the early shows and have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their excitement and feedback.

Chay fans have been raving about the Chandoo Mondeti film online, stating that it is their favourite star's ‘comeback’. Sai Pallavi’s moving performance has also got a thumbs-up from the netizens, who also seem to be impressed with DSP’s beautiful music for the romantic action film.

The fans are also in awe of the amazing chemistry between the lead pair. Some fans called it a complete entertainer with mass action and blockbuster, while yet another fan went on to say that blockbuster is on the cards.

Thandel cast and plot

Naga Chaitanya stars as Raju, while Sai Pallavi plays his love interest Satya in this romantic action film. Chandoo Mondeti, who has previously collaborated with Naga Chaitanya in Premam and Savyasachi, has written and directed the film.

The film also features Prakash Belawadi, Divya Pillai, Rao Ramesh, Karunakaran, and Babloo Prithiveeraj, among others, in supporting roles.

Thandel narrates the tale of Raju and other fishermen in the Srikakulam area. The film portrays his predicament as Raju finds himself in Pakistani waters and is captured by the neighbouring nation.

The only other major star film to release in the South this week is Vidaamuyarchi which is headlined by Ajith Kumar. The Tamil action thriller, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, also stars Trisha, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra.
