The Devil update: Fans were eagerly awaiting news on The Devil’s release date, but the title of the first single has excited them nevertheless.

When news spread that the team of Challenging Star Darshan Thoogudeepa’s next, The Devil, was ready with the first official update, it got everyone’s hopes high. Fans thought that director Prakash Veer who recently wrapped up production of the film, would have good news for them; they expected an update on the release date. There has, after all, been widespread speculation that The Devil will be in theatres in 2025.

What the team did announce instead was that The Devil’s first single would be out on August 15, 2025 at 10.05 am and what has excited fans is the title – Idre Nemdiyaag Irbek. “Crazy title” is what netizens described the Ajaneesh Loknath song, written and performed by Rahul Dit-O, a lyrical video of which is what will drop on Independence Day.

“This is going to be one Crazy song which will be remembered for a lifetime”, “The slogan of this song has taken over the entire social media”, wrote fans on social media, while also urging the film team to drop another major update along with the song – the release date. The buzz is that The Devil is aiming for a December theatrical release, but the team is yet to confirm this.

Had everything gone according to plan, The Devil would have been in theatres in December 2024, but then Darshan’s arrest in the Renukaswamy murder case, for which he spent 131 days in jail before being granted bail. After his release on bail, the actor took a few months off before resuming shoot on The Devil, which included schedules in Rajasthan, Europe and Thailand.

The film pairs Darshan with Rachana Rai, while Mahesh Manjrekar, Vinay Gowda, Achyuth Kumar and Chandu Gowda have also been confirmed to be a part of it. The Devil is Prakash Veer’s second film with Darshan; the duo had earlier collaborated on Tarak.
