The Fantastic Four: First Steps will stream on JioHotstar in India after its theatrical run. The MCU film features a new cast and storyline set in a 1960s-style alternate universe.

In India, fans can see the highly awaited film The Fantastic Four: First Steps on JioHotstar after it has shown in theatres. This move comes after a pattern of big MCU releases making their way onto the platform for Indian viewers.
Stream Fantastic Four, Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness now on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium for the ultimate Marvel multiverse experience.
Matt Shakman's The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film starring the Fantastic Four. It launches Phase Six of the franchise and is the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will be released in theatres on July 25, 2025, after having its global debut on July 21, 2025, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles.
Set on Earth-828, a retro-futuristic planet reminiscent of the 1960s, the film presents a fresh perspective on the legendary squad. Cast members Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing battle Ralph Ineson's Galactus, a being capable of devouring entire planets. The cosmic herald of Galactus, Shalla-Bal (Julia Garner), goes by more than just one name.
The decision to cast Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards was impacted by his lengthy association with director Shakman. The actor drew inspiration from past comic book versions of Mister Fantastic and played up the character's intelligence rather than his physical appearance. After meeting Reed, Shakman declared him to be "the most scientifically intelligent person on the planet."
Throughout her portrayal of Sue Storm, Vanessa Kirby skilfully blends emotional intelligence with a maternal arc, as the character experiences the joys of becoming a mother throughout the film. She added complexity to Sue's persona by incorporating parts of the darker comic plot in which she becomes "Malice," as pointed out by Kirby.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach uses motion capture to portray Ben Grimm. In keeping with his previous portrayal on television in The Bear he highlighted the character's integrity and devotion. To ensure that the CGI version of the Thing was accurate, Shakman collaborated closely with geologists and visual effects artists to shoot references to actual desert rocks.
In creating Human Torch, Joseph Quinn made an effort to distance himself from previous portrayals of womanising. In contrast, Quinn worked on Johnny Storm's self-awareness while letting him keep his flamboyant spirit.
Motion capture was also crucial to Julia Garner's portrayal of the Silver Surfer. Her performance was a synthesis of the physical and the ethereal, drawing inspiration from surfing and comic book iconography.
Early reviews have been overwhelmingly good, with critics complimenting the film's visual flair, ensemble cast, and the way it incorporates retro elements within the MCU framework. Reportedly, pre-production work has begun on a sequel.
After The Fantastic Four: First Steps finishes playing in theatres, JioHotstar will be the only platform in India where viewers can watch the film online. Although Disney and Marvel Studios have not yet revealed a precise streaming date, fans may anticipate it to coincide with their worldwide digital release schedule.
