Christopher Nolan returns with another historical drama which claims to be a cinematic adaptation of ancient Greek poet, Homer's epic Odyssey.

A few months back, we gave a brief description about Christopher Nolan's upcoming movie, The Odyssey. Now, we will be discussing about which actor will be portraying what epic character in the action-fantasy drama. For the unversed, the epic movie is adapted from ancient Homer's epic poem Odyssey that's expected to be composed around the late eight or early seventh century with most scholars dated roughly between 750 and 650 BCE. The Odyssey is releasing in cinemas on July 17, 2026.

As we all know Christopher Nolan is a filmmaker who never walks alone with his masterpieces, whether it's the Batman franchise, or Interstellar, or Inception, or Tenet, or Dunkirk, or Oppenheimer. Hence, it's obvious a movie like The Odyssey will also be having an epic ensemble cast.
Matt Damon as Odysseus: The Martian actor will be seen in as the legendary Greek King of Ithaca
Tom Holland as Telemachus: The Avengers: Infinity War actor will be seen as King Odysseus' young son
Anne Hathaway as Queen Penelope: The Devil Wears Prada actress will be seen as King Odysseus' wife
Robert Pattinson as Antinous: The Mickey 17 actor will be seen as Penelope's one of the suitors
Zendaya as Athena: The Euphoria actress will be seen as Godess of Wisdom, protecting Odysseus
Charlize Theron as Circe: The Italian Job actress will be seen as the goddess of witch
Jon Bernthal as Menelaus: The Accountant actor will be seen as another Greek King of Sparta
John Leguizamo as Eumaeus: The Violent Night actor will be seen as King Odysseus' faithful servant
Mia Goth as Melantho: The Pearl actress will be seen as a trustworthy maid of King Odysseus and Queen Penelope
As the historical drama is adapted from the ancient poem, the story follows the same. In Trojan War after his heroic act, King Odysseus is stranded in the sea, struggling to return to home in Ithaca. The voyage took a prolonged ten years of struggle and peril. The story will highlight the dramatic encounters of Odysseus with mythical creatures and challenges from gods like Poseidon, while his wife Penelope is dealing with her suitors in Ithaca, with anticipations of the King's death in the war.
Meanwhile, Odysseus' son Telemachus goes on a rigorous search for his father and the King of Ithaca. He embarks to Pylos to speak with the King Nestor and then to the King Sparta to meet with King Menelaus, gathering information about his father's fate and what actually happened in the Trojan War.
Although the climax of Christopher Nolan's movie is still shrouded, Homer's poem ended with Odysseus finally returning home as a beggar. He must prove his identity as his outerlook is extremely changed and can't be recognised. Later, Odysseus slaughters all the suitors who tried to marry Penelope.
