The Pet Detective: Bison actress Anupama Parameswaran recently revealed how her busy schedule meant that she doubted if she could be part of Sharafudheen's Malayalam film.

Popular actress Anupama Parameswaran, who is quite busy with other language films such as Bison in Tamil, is back in Malayalam cinema with The Pet Detective, after JSK earlier this year. Sharafudheen leads The Pet Detective, which also marks the actor’s reunion with Anupama after they both collaborated on Premam 10 years ago. But the Bison actress Anupama recently revealed how her busy schedule meant that she doubted if she could be part of The Pet Detective.

Bison to Pet Detective: Anupama Parameswaran

The Pet Detective is an upcoming Malayalam movie set to release in theatres on October 16, 202 5. During a recent chat with The Cue Studio, Anupama Parameswaran remarked that she was busy with two or three film projects at the same time, including Pet Detective.

“The shoot started in April 2024.At that time, I was busy with several projects. I was going for Bison (shoot)," the Premam actress recounted.

"I did not have dates. The problem was that there were many combination scenes. Not just me and Sharaf ikka, there were many actors. At a point, I even called up and said that I didn't think I could do this film. But these guys said we will somehow manage it,” she added.

Sharafudheen also said that they managed the dates to ensure that Anupama was part of the project. The Padakkalam actor also revealed that Anupama was their first choice for the role, and he was happy that she came on board despite the date clash and the delay over making Pet Detective.

Apart from the lead actors, The Pet Detective also features Vinay Forrt and Joemon Jyothir. Praneesh Vijayan has directed the film.

On the other hand, Bison is a Tamil film, helmed by noted filmmaker Mari Selvaraj. Dhruv Vikram leads this film, which will also release on October 17, 2025.

Other Malayalam films releasing in theatres this week are Rima Kallingal's Theatre: The Myth of Reality also on October 16 and Navya Nair’s Paathirathri on October 17.
