Ever since this statement, speculation has spread like wildfire that The Raja Saab has not turned out well, which is believed to be the reason the OTT platform, JioHotstar reportedly refrained from paying a premium and acquired the film for a lesser amount.

The producer later cleared the air through a post on social media, but the assumptions have not stopped. However, we at OTTplay have learned that the OTT rights of The Raja Saab have been sold for a staggering ₹160 crore across all languages.

Generally, for a star of Prabhas’s stature, especially for pan-India releases, OTT rights fetch a massive sum. However, ₹160 crore is considered on the lower side. The makers were reportedly expecting close to ₹200 crore, which did not materialise, leading to the ongoing chatter on social media.

Maruthi has directed the film and recently revealed at an event that the budget of The Raja Saab is close to ₹400 crore. At a time when OTT platforms are increasingly calling the shots, the film’s OTT deal has become a major talking point due to the price at which it was sold.
