The Raja Saab, the big Sankranthi release, made its OTT premiere within a month of its theatrical debut, after both critics and audiences panned the Prabhas-led horror comedy. The Prabhas film did find supporters online, but several netizens have also panned the horror comedy.

A day before its digital debut, JioHotstar had confirmed that the film would have an extended cut for the OTT version.

The film also features three leading ladies - Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar - which was also questioned by netizens. While terming it as the ‘worst movie’, one netizen asked ‘Why so many actresses?’ while stating it is the worst casting. Another person pointed out that Prabhas, hailed as one of the biggest superstars of the country, looked ‘uninterested’.

Reddit forums also panned the movie, with one person claiming “I couldn't even finish till the interval.. the casting is terrible..the plot is terrible.. script written by a first timer ? No content, no proper dialogue.” While comparison were made to "watching a 1999 doordarshan afternoon theater drama", another netizen said Doordarshan dramas have put better efforts.
