The Society announcement video: Did Munawar Faruqui just introduce Indian Squid Game?

Munawar Faruqui might have just introduced the Indian version of Squid Game, after the series came to an end, and this time, we might get to explore the VIPs of the show

Squid Game might have come to an end in Korea with season 3, but it looks like Munawar Faruqui is about to introduce the Indian version of the popular drama. Titled The Society, this drama is now announced, and there are some rather interesting things to note.

Munawar Faruqui has introduced a new TV show on JioHotstar Sparks. Titled The Society, the reality TV show star is heard saying, "Log kehte hai life ek game hai, toh humne seriously le liya." It is, however, the striking visuals that will transport you back into the world of Squid Game.

Squid Game gets its Indian version?

While there are various connections with Squid Game, the makers have not officially announced The Society as Indian Squid Game. Of course, this means that Munawar will not serve as the Frontman, originally played by Lee Byung-hun, at least yet. However, the resemblances are hard to miss. But then again, it is too early to judge if there will be resemblances between Squid Game and The Society. The latter is scheduled to release on JioHotstar and can be streamed for free. However, the release date for the same is still under wraps.

After winning Kangana Ranaut's Lock Upp season 1 and Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 17, Munawar Faruqui made his web series debut. He did so with First Copy, a show about piracy. Unfortunately, he did not get noticed for the same, the way he would have liked to. However, The Society announcement video is sure to grab eyeballs, at least initially, for its concept appearing similar to Lee Jung-jae's Squid Game.

Squid Game comes to an end?

There is still an ongoing debate on whether Squid Game has actually come to an end. Although there were hints about Squid Game US version with Cate Blanchett making her cameo in the Korean series, the makers have not confirmed whether it is actually in the works. Nonetheless, there is buzz that Squid Game Universe is planned. If an Indian version comes in the mix, it would be interesting to see where things go.
