Thudakkam: Vismaya Mohanlal’s debut film shoot wrapped up, set for Onam 2026 release

The upcoming Malayalam film Thudakkam, which marks the debut of superstar Mohanlal’s daughter Vismaya, has just completed shooting. Helmed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the film is set to release in theatres for Onam 2026, along with several other much-anticipated movies.

What is the latest update on Thudakkam

Online trackers have reported that the shooting for Thudakkam, starring Vismaya Mohanal in the lead role, is completed. As per the video shared online, Thudakkam producer Antony Perumbavoor is seen thanking the entire cast and crew for supporting the film. Director Jude and Vismaya are also seen on location in the video.

Vismaya’s acting debut was announced by Mohanlal last year and the film went on floors in November 2025. The first look poster of the debutante actress was revealed in January. Though Thudakkam was announced as an Onam release, the exact date was not given. Dulquer Salmaan’s movie I’m Game is also set to hit theatres for Onam.

Who are the actors in Thudakkam

Mohanlal is also part of his daughter’s first film. The superstar is said to be making an extended cameo. The film also features Aashish Joe Antony, the son of Antony Perumbavoor, who has been a long-time friend and associate of Mohanlal. Jibin Gopinath, Jaffer Idukki, and Bobby Kurian are also part of the cast.

More details about the plot of the film are not known.

Thudakkam also has a strong technical crew with cinematographer Jomon T John, composer Jakes Bejoy of Lokah fame, and editor Chaman Chakko. Action choreographers Yannick Ben and Stunt Silva are also on board the film.

Mohanlal’s son Pranav is also an actor. Pranav was last in the horror thriller Dies Irae, directed by Rahul Sadasivan.

On the other hand, Mohanlal’s upcoming release is Drishyam 3, hitting theatres on April 2, 2026. The Jeethu Joseph-helmed film would continue with the story of Georgekutty. Mohanlal also plays a key role in Mammootty-starrer Patriot helmed by Mahesh Narayanan. Patriot is also a summer release on April 23.
