Triptii Dimri on Dhadak 2: 'This film made me open up a lot more'

Dhadak 2 is one of the most-awaited romantic films of 2025. Starring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the film is said to be the remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018). The trailer for Dhadak 2 was already released, and it gained significant buzz. Ahead of the release, Triptii shared what made her say yes to Dhadak 2.

Triptii Dimri opens up about Dhadak 2

In an interview with Mid-Day, Triptii Dimri was asked to share what made her say yes to Dhadak 2. The actress said that it was her character and the film's messaging.

“For me, she is Vidhi [her character]. She is not afraid to speak her truth. There is so much to learn from her because she makes you feel empowered,” says Dimri. The actor believes that knowing Iqbal has changed her perspective. “I have been an introvert. I have seen and faced things, and not raised my voice against them. For 30 years of my life, I have kept quiet about so many things," she said.

Triptii also added that she told filmmaker Shazia Iqba that she wants to be like Vidhi; that by the end of this film, she should have the courage to speak her truth without being scared of anyone or the outcome. "Now, I do stand up for the right things. This film made me open up a lot more,” Triptii said.

Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 movie Dhadak. The film stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri as Nilesh and Vidhi, respectively, who fall in love despite facing social barriers due to their different social backgrounds. The story explores their tragic love story and the challenges they face in a society that resists their relationship.

The story focuses on the couple's struggle to stay together and face the social pressures and potential dangers that come with their love.

The film is produced by Karan Johar, along with Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures. Other producers include Umesh KR Bansal, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Arora, Somen Mishra, Adar Poonawalla, and Pragati Deshmukh.

Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi's Dhadak 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 1, 2025.
