Vijay in Varisu

With the release of Vijay-starrer Varisu just a week away, makers have released its two-minute trailer, giving a glimpse into the movie's plot. The promo video, which has been neatly cut as a commercial family entertainer, is likely to create new records in terms of YouTube views.

Fans of the star and others have started taking to Twitter to share their opinion with the hashtag #VarisuTrailer. What impressed some of them are the one-liners like 'Aatanayagan' and a few punch dialogues which are expected to set off fireworks in theatres.

A few of them have pinned high hopes on the family-friendly content as it's been a while since Vijay has headlined such a movie. According to them, the trailer offers different commercial elements catering to the needs of varied sections of audience.

Having said that, there are those who felt that the film is likely to be a mish-mash of a few projects which director Vamshi Paidipally has helmed earlier. There are movie buffs who have also pointed out that the trailer has more of a Telugu flavour than Tamil, which is expected though.

One of the things many looked forward to in the trailer was the film's release date. Though the team had earlier announced January 12 as the date, it looks like there might be a change in plans. Many have expressed disappointment over the lack of clarity over the release when the tentative date is only a few days away.

Fans of Vijay are now looking forward to the Telugu trailer of Varisu which will be released in a while. The Tollywood version has been titled Vaarasudu; it will have a simultaneous release.
