Varun Dhawan's much-awaited Bhediya 2 was scheduled for release on August 14, 2026. The sequel to the 2022 creature-comedy, Bhediya will star Varun Dhawan and is part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe. However, the release date was postponed to avoid a box office clash with other films like Love & War and Naagzilla. Now, during a Q&A session on X, Varun reacted to a fan's query about Bhediya 2's release date.

During the interactive session on X with his fans, Varun Dhawan was asked to update about Bhediya 2. The fan said, "Just tell me Bhediya 2 is happening and NOT shelved. Please."

To this, Varun replied, "Arre bhai sab sab kuch bol denge toh suprise kaise de apology wait thoda #varunsays." This means Bhediya 2 is indeed happening.

About Bhediya 2 being delayed

Bollywood Hungama reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has postponed Love & War from the March 2026 slot due to a delay in shooting. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal starrer is eyeing an August 14, 2026, release. Additionally, Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla is also releasing on the same day. Meanwhile, it was earlier announced by the makers that Bhediya 2, starring Varun Dhawan, would arrive in the same week. But it is now postponed to avoid box office clashes.

The source shared, “Three big films coming on the same day would have caused a lot of issues in screen sharing. But with Bhediya 2 getting pushed, Love & War and Naagzilla can arrive on the same day. Both belong to diverse genres and are star-studded biggies. Hence, it will surely excite the audience and pull them to cinemas.”

The source also mentioned that Love & War’s release date is not yet locked, as a final call will be taken soon. However, August 14 seems to be their favorite date. "As for Naagzilla, the makers feel the date is apt as their film deals with snakes. With Nag Panchami falling on August 17, they want to arrive on August 14," it added.
