Kannada actor Vasishta N. Simha is slowly but steadily making his presence felt in Telugu cinema with strong performances. He was last seen in Tamannaah Bhatia’s Odela 2, where his role stood out as one of the film’s highlights. He is now ready with his new film Tribanadhari Barbarik, which releases on August 29, 2025.

Ever since the trailer dropped, the film has generated solid buzz, and Vasistha believes that once it is out, Barbarik will surely become a talking point everywhere. He plays a central character, a man who aspires to settle down in life but whose destiny takes an unexpected turn, turning his world upside down.

“My character has multiple layers and was physically very demanding. We shot in extreme conditions, and at one point, I even worked for over 20 hours at a stretch. Though I cannot reveal much about my role, it is key to the story and represents one among us in society,” shares Vasishta.

The film also stars veteran actor Sathyaraj in a pivotal role, and Vasishta has immense admiration for him. “Even at this age, Sathyaraj sir works tirelessly, and his life is an inspiration for actors like me. His role in Barbarik stands out and even has a mythological connection to the Mahabharata. The way it has been designed with a fantasy angle is one of the highlights of the film,” he adds.

Directed by Mohan Srivatsa the film also features Udaya Bhanu and Satyam Rajesh in important roles. According to Vasishta, the core of Barbarik is about accountability to society. “What happens when people are not accountable to society? Things can turn dangerous, and that is what the director has presented engagingly,” he explains.

Tribanadhari Barbarik in plans for a Kannada release?

When asked about the possibility of a Kannada release, Vasishta said, “I am going to watch the film with the audience on release day in Hyderabad. After that, we will decide about releasing it in Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada. We are very confident Barbarik will be a sure-shot hit, and I believe I will gain a lot of recognition for this role.”

Tribanadhari Barbarik carries a strong social message while blending elements of thrill through a gripping kidnapping drama. With decent hype already surrounding the project, Vasishta is confident that the film will change his standing in Telugu cinema for good.
