A few days before the film's theatrical premiere, the makers of the highly regarded Malayalam film Victoria released its trailer. The Kerala State Government-backed movie will hit theatres on November 28, according to a recent announcement.

The main character of the movie is Victoria, a young beautician who, following a heated argument with her traditional Catholic parents, chooses to walk away with her Hindu lover. In the meantime, the trailer depicts how a neighbor's request for her to temporarily retain a rooster for sacrifice inside her parlour for a feast at St George Church causes a tumultuous day in her life. In addition to managing her clientele, the one-minute video displays glimpses of Victoria's battle with conflicting emotions as she deals with her partner's indifference and the rooster's antics.

Victoria's theatrical release on November 28

Many who were unable to watch it at film festivals are eager to see it in theatres. As of right now, no other Malayalam films are planned for the big screen on the same day. In addition to Meenakshi Jayan, important roles in Victoria are played by Sreeshma Chandran, Jolly Chirayath, Steeja Mary, Darsana Vikas, Jeena Rajeev, and Remadevi. The film was written and edited by director Sivaranjini J. The camera work was done by Anand Ravi.

This movie is making its big-screen debut after screening at numerous film festivals. After showing at the 29th International Film Festival of Kerala in 2024, Victoria took home the FIPRESCI Award for Best Malayalam Film. After seeing a rooster with its legs bound and its head resting on a broken foot bath bucket while visiting a local beauty salon, the filmmaker disclosed that the movie is based on actual happenings. She asked the beautician about him after seeing this, and discovered that he was to be offered at a church. This particular incident inspired her to write Victoria.
