The first single from Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai, crooned by Dhanush and Ananya Bhat, was unveiled yesterday. The melody composed by Ilaiyaraaja has been garnering positive response from music lovers. Soori plays the lead in the movie which will be released in two parts.

The first part is likely to hit the screens in the last week of March. Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Menon, Bhavani Sre, Ilavarasu, Chetan and Rajiv Menon among others essay crucial characters in the film which has cinematography by Velraj. Peter Hein and Stun Siva have choreographed action sequences for the project.

We have learnt from a source that the much-awaited movie based on the novel written by Jeyamohan will have its OTT premiere on Zee5 post its theatrical release. Kalaignar TV has bagged its satellite rights as well. An official announcement is expected anytime soon. Elred Kumar has produced Viduthalai under the banner of RS Infotainment and Red Giant Movies has acquired its Tamil Nadu theatrical rights.

R Ramar and Jacki have handled editing and art direction respectively for the project. Vetri Maaran's last theatrical release was Asuran which hit the screens in 2019. His Paava Kadhaigal, one of the segments from Netflix's anthology, was released in 2020.

Movie buffs are eagerly looking forward to seeing a new avatar of Soori in Viduthalai. Its second part, too, is expected to be released in movie halls this year. There were reports of Vetri teaming up with Suriya for Vaadivaasal post Viduthalai, but it is heard that the filmmaker might team up with Kamal Haasan next.

He was also in talks with Vijay for a project, but looks like it is too early to talk about it as the star is busy with Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo.
