War 2: Kiara Advani's viral bikini sequence cropped? Know all the major CBFC changes in Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR's film

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made several major changes in War 2, starring Kiara Advani, Hrithik Roshan, and Jr NTR. The film will hit theaters on August 14, 2025.

War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. Ayan Mukerji-directed film is one of the most-awaited films of 2025, and as per reports, it falls under the mega blockbuster slab, while the ticket rates are expected to be in the same range as Pushpa 2 – The Rule. However, ahead of the release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made several major changes in War 2.

CBFC edits in War 2

As per Bollywood Hungama, CBFC made major changes in War 2. The makers were asked to mute 'inappropriate references' in six places in the audio and visual sections. In addition, an 'obscene' line of dialogue was replaced with an approved sentence, and an 'obscene' gesture made by a character was removed.

When the trailer was out, Kiara Advani's bikini sequence went viral on social media. However, the CBFC has asked the makers to reduce the erotic scenes by 50 percent, and it is learnt that the questionable scenes are Kiara Advani's bikini shot in the song Aavan Jaavan. No changes have been made to the action scenes.

War 2 runtime

Following these changes, War 2 was certified with a U/A 16+ rating on August 6, 2025. The runtime for the film is 179.49 minutes, aka 2 hours, 59 minutes, and 49 seconds. Meanwhile, on August 8, the makers of War 2 again approached the CBFC and sources revealed that they voluntarily cut the film's runtime to 2 hours, 51 minutes, and 44 seconds (171.44 minutes).

An industry source revealed that it was CBFC's Revising Committee (RC) that cleared War 2 and not the Examining Committee (EC). They said, “It is possible that the EC must have asked for many changes, which must have prompted War 2 makers to approach the RC,” as quoted by the above-mentioned portal.

Meanwhile, War 2 will feature a dance face-off between Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, which will only be shown in theaters. On the other hand, the climax will not only introduce Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha but also give a peek at Ranbir Kapoor.
