War 2 is all set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025. The film is one of the most-awaited films of 2025, and it is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, and a sequel to the 2019 film War.

The trailer already gave a peek into what the film has in store for us, but you certainly cannot guess what's more in it. War 2 advance booking

War 2 advance booking has started, and it opened to a decent start, with over 67,000 tickets sold for its opening day in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The Hindi version has sold over 55,000 tickets across various formats like 2D, IMAX, and Dolby. The bookings are yet to open in full swing, reported the trade website Sacnilk.

The film falls under the mega blockbuster category; hence, the ticket rates are expected to be in the same range as Pushpa 2 – The Rule. Meanwhile, War 2 has grossed around Rs 2.4 crore for its opening day, and Rs 6.12 crore including data with block seats.

War 2 CBFC cuts

As per Bollywood Hungama, CBFC made major changes in War 2. The creators were asked to mute 'inappropriate references' in six places in the audio and visual sections. In addition, a 'obscene' line of dialogue was replaced with an approved sentence, and a 'obscene' gesture made by a character was removed.

Additionally, there have been cuts in Kiara Advani's bikini sequence. The CBFC has asked the makers to reduce the erotic scenes by 50 percent and it is learnt that the questionable scenes are Kiara's bikini shot in the song Aaban Jaavan. No changes have been made to the action scenes.

War 2 was certified with a U/A 16+ and the runtime for the film is 2 hours and 51 minutes.

In War 2, Hrithik Roshan reprises his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal. On the other hand, Jr NTR plays the Special Units Officer Vikram, who is assigned to neutralize Kabir. Kiara Advani plays Kavya Luthra, a character who is more than just a romantic interest for Kabir. She is speculated to be the daughter of Colonel Sunil Luthra, a senior RAW official, played by Ashutosh Rana.

The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films.

War 2 is an action thriller film and the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. It features Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, while Jr NTR as Special Units Officer Vikram, who is tasked with neutralizing Kabir. The story revolves around Kabir's rise to become India's greatest villain and Vikram's relentless efforts to stop him, as the two engage in a global cat-and-mouse chase.

As per reports by Bollywood Hungama the YRF team has asked 2-screen properties to play a minimum of 12 shows of War 2 and a minimum of 18 shows need to be played in 3-screen theatres.

"Multiplexes with 4, 5 and 6 screens need to play 21, 27 and 30 shows a day respectively. For 7-screen multiplexes, 36 shows are a must, while for 8-screen plexes, 42 shows are mandatory in a day. There should be 48 shows in 9-screen cinemas and for multiplexes with 10 screens and more, the requirement is 54 shows," the source added.

War 2 dance battle

In War 2, the song Janaab-e-Aali shows an exciting dance battle between Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan. However, the full version will only be available in theaters while watching the film.
