It is a double bonanza for actor Kalyani Priyadarshan this Onam season, given the actor has two Malayalam releases, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, a superhero film and Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira co-starring Fahadh Faasil. While Kalyani is currently basking in success of Lokah, which has been getting fantastic reviews across, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira has been getting mixed responses. It is fascinating to learn that daughter of veteran Malayalam filmmaker Priyadarshan, Kalyani Priyadarshan made her acting debut in Telugu and Tamil before entering Malayalam cinema. The young and upcoming actor had two Onam releases this week, including Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra and Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira.

Kalyani, who is a familiar face in Tamil cinema, was here in the 2021 film Maanaadu. The actor has two big films in the pipeline. They are Genie and Marshal. While Genie stars Ravi Mohan in the lead role, and has Krithi Shetty and Wamiqa Gabbi as female leads as well, the film is touted to be a fantasy film. Genie was announced a while ago and is expected to make a release soon. However, the makers have not shared any update on the project so far. It is helmed by Arjunan Jr.

Meanwhile, it was only recently announced that Kalyani plays the female lead in Marshal a film which is headlined by Karthi. Actors Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Lal, John Kokken, Murali Sharma, Easwari Rao and others are part of the film, with Nivin Pauly rumoured to be playing the villain. It is directed by Tamizh who made his debut with Taanakaaran. Set against the coastal backdrop, the film is under production at present.

Helmed by Dominic Arun, and produced by Dulquer Salmaan, the Malayalam film easily became the Onam winner this season and is a female-centric superhero film brandishing some surprise cameos and Naslen as one of the leads. More shows are being added after positive word of mouth.
