Malayalam actors Sreenivasan and Mohanlal go a long way back, and have delivered some of the most entertaining films together such as Nadodikkattu and Midhunam, among several others. But over the years, they reportedly had some issues off-screen. Sreenivasan also made some unsavoury remarks about the Malayalam’s Complete Actor during interviews, drawing much ire of the Lalettan fans. In one of the instances, he even claimed that Malayalam superstar had refused to act in Malayalam evergreen hero Prem Nazir's directorial. This sparked a row and many fans felt that Sreenivasan should never have spoken against Mohanlal in such a demeaning manner. However, Mohanlal has never responded to Sreenivasan’s statements publicly.
Recently, Sreenivasan had visited the sets of Hridayapoorvam, helmed by their frequent collaborator Sathyan Anthikad. On the sets, Sreenivasan apologized to Mohanlal, “If you were hurt by what I said, please forgive me," Dhyan revealed. And Mohanlal also responded kindly when he said “Vitteku Sreeni", meaning let it go.
Dhyan recounted the incident during a recent event during the promotions for his upcoming film Bheeshmar. Lavishing praise on the Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient for his kind gesture to Sreenivasan, Dhyan said audiences do not appreciate his persona enough.
One of the most celebrated films of Mohanlal-Sreenivasan is Nadodikkattu, which saw them in the iconic characters of Vijayan and Dasan. The story of the two jobless youths becoming investigators led to two more sequels of Pattanapravesham and Akkare Akkare Akkare with the actors reprising their roles. Their other popular films are Mithunam, Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, and Gandhinagar 2nd Street.
