In a conversation with India Today, Emraan Hashmi was asked if the success of another film can sometimes feel uncomfortable, as every actor aspires to achieve similar box office numbers. Emraan Hashmi said that whenever a film does a certain amount of business, it is natural to feel happy. However, he points out that there is a "bad mentality" in the industry, where people often like to downplay films.
He also added that, in his opinion, successful films should be celebrated, because the more films that do well, the better for the industry, ensuring cash flow and benefiting everyone. He stressed that there should be no such negative mindset.
Emraan highlighted how marketing and word of mouth played a key role in Dhurandhar's run at the box office. Although he had not seen the film yet, he was surprised how the audience chose a film of considerable length.
"But it's great for the makers. I think it's a great film. The marketing of the film, the way it's... I've not seen the film, but it's audacious when you have two parts like that. And a film that is almost three and a half hours, but it's doing that kind of business," he said.
Emraan Hashmi mentioned that despite the film's screening lasting nearly four hours, the audience was also present on the morning show. He also said that it demonstrates the power of cinema and word of mouth, saying that the film has spread like wildfire.
