Will Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna reunite in Abbas-Mustan's Humraaz 2? Here's what we know!

Abbas-Mustan and Ratan Jain set to revive Humraaz for a sequel.

A sequel to Humraaz, one of the cult classics directed by the legendary Abbas-Mustan team, is in the works. In collaboration with producer Ratan Jain, the filmmakers have successfully secured the storyline for Humraaz 2, which promises to be an exciting story that builds on the popularity of the first film.

Pinkvilla has exclusive information that Abbas-Mustan and Ratan Jain have been discussing concepts for a Humraaz sequel for the last two years. The creative team spent a great deal of time working on a script before coming up with something that looks and sounds better than the original.

The portal was informed by a source close to the development that, Abbas-Mustan and their team have discussed hundreds of ideas for Humraaz 2 over the last two years, but they have never found anything that serves as a worthy predecessor. "And finally, around a month back, the duo has managed to crack something that’s not just bigger but also better than the first part," the source further added.

After laying the groundwork for the plot, Abbas-Mustan and Ratan Jain will be working on the script in the upcoming months. The production crew is in the process of holding talks to perhaps bring back the original cast as they approach actors to join the project.

"It’s yet undecided if it’s a straight sequel or a franchise film, but there is some movement at Ratan Jain’s office with regards to the idea of bringing back Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna to the film. There will be clarity on the casting soon," the source added.

Humraaz, a 2002 film with Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna, and Ameesha Patel in the key parts, was praised for its sensual plot with many turns and turns. The movie has developed a sizable fan base over time.

Meanwhile, Abbas Mustan may work on a Vishal Rana movie with Sunny Deol before tackling Humraaz 2. That project is currently in the advanced stages of discussion. It is hailed as an unrivaled action thriller.
