The trailer of Yamakaathaghi, the upcoming film starring new faces, has been released by the makers on social media recently. The film, which is a supernatural mystery thriller, is scheduled to hit big screens on March 7.

Yamakaathaghi is a supernatural mystery thriller in the making, which is waiting for release on March 7. Ahead of the release, the film’s trailer is now out.

The trailer of Yamakaathaghi begins with a group of villagers wishing the temple festival goes well. Cut to, we see a couple in love spending time against the rural landscapes. The trailer shifts to a serious tone, when something is odd about a locked room, and family members rue about their girl leaving them. We see the girl has died, and the police are investigating the reason for her death. Yamakaathaghi is set against a funeral house when one of them notices that the body is moving.

Helmed by debutant director Peppin George Jayaseelan, the film revolves around a funeral of a young woman whose spirit refuses to leave the house.

Everything you need to know about Yamakaathaghi

The film was shot in a Thanjavur village, with cinematography by Sujith Sarang, with Sreejith Sarang handling the editing and coloring. Actors Roopa Koduvayur, Geetha Kailasam, Narendra Prasath, and others are part of the cast. Yamakaathagi has music by Jecin George. Produced by Srinivasarao Jalakam, and co-produced by Ganapathi Reddy.

Earlier speaking to OTTplay about the film, director Peppin George Jayaseelan, “We have added many layers visually, and since we combining many genres, we had to be technically aware to deliver it. At the same time, we did not want it to be too cinematic."

Yamakaathaghi is scheduled to release on March 7 along with several other Tamil films like Gentlewoman, Kingston and Aalambana.
