Young actor Ken Karunaas is gearing up for the release of his film Youth, which is slated for March release. The youthful entertainer marks Ken's directorial and lead acting debut. With the promotions of the film in full swing, Ken Karunaas opened up about casting, especially when fans have continuously been questioning Tamil cinema about why it does not cast female leads from the local industry rather than opting for roping in stars from neighbouring states. On the sideline, Ken Karunaas spoke about how no heroines were ready to act with him.

What did Ken Karunaas say?

Current generation actors like Pradeep Ranganathan and Abishan Jeevinth have opened up about how female leads have refused to pair up with them, due to their physical appearance. Recently, Ken Karunaas' whose Youth is up for release in a few weeks, said, "When Pradeep Ranganathan, Abishan used to say that heroines did not want to act them, I used to think they are lying because why wouldn't heroines want to act in good scripts. But that is the reality. It might sound milking for sympathy. But when I narrated the story, they were not ready to act. I don't lie to them that they are the heroine and am frank with them about their screentime."

Ken also added, "Heroines who have seen-zoned by message and not replied, rejected. Now the same heroines are putting reels for Mutta Kalakki song. They even said they are rooting for me.” However, Ken did not name the actors who rejected him. Mutta Kalakki is the first single from Youth which has been gaining social media attention.

The Ken Karunaas film will be releasing along with the Hindi biggie Dhurandhar 2, while Yash-starrer Toxic which was also slated for the same day had postponed. Ken Karunas, Anishma Anilkumar Devadarshini, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Meenakshi Dinesh and others are part of the cast, with GV Prakash scoring the music.
