The shooting of Hari's Yaanai which began earlier this year, was wrapped up recently. Starring Arun Vijay and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles, the movie has an ensemble cast, featuring the likes of Radhika Sarath Kumar, Samuthirakani, Imman Annachi, Yogi Babu and Ammu Abhirami among others.

The multi-talented legend Gangai Amaren has donned the greasepaint again for the movie after almost a decade's hiatus. Prakash Raj, who was earlier supposed to play a pivotal role in the film, as Arun Vijay's elder brother, had opted out of the project earlier after suffering an injury.

The movie, which will release in Telugu as Enugu has music scored by GV Prakash, cinematography by Gopinath and editing by Anthony. The film is slated for a theatrical release in February though the date is yet to be announced. There are reports that the project is likely to lock horns with Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan.

The latest on Yaanai is that Zee5 has bagged its digital and satellite rights. It is expected that the official announcement on the same will be made after the makers decide on the film's theatrical release date.

A few actors from the film have been posting working stills from the location on their social media accounts ever since Yaanai went on floors. The movie has been shot in various locations across Tamil Nadu, like Rameswaram, Pollachi, Karaikudi, Nagore, Palani.

Karthick Naren's Mafia (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) was Arun Vijay's last outing. His next release is said to be Oh My Dog which will have a direct release on Amazon Prime Video. The movie is expected to be out this month later.
